Donations
We raise funds by working hard at putting on events like the historical re-enactments by Lesley Smith, Coronation concerts, organising raffles, Santa Sleigh Run, manning stalls at local events such the Charter fair and many other venues.
So far this year we have donated funds to:
Donation To Katherine House
The Rugeley & District Lions Club is proud to announce a donation of £500 to Katharine House Hospice, presented at a special fundraiser held at Lea Hall Club, Rugeley.
Club President Debra Coburn presented a cheque to Rob Sullivan in memory of Rob’s beloved late wife, Chris Sullivan. The event, organized in her honour, sold out months in advance—a true reflection of the community’s support and affection.
All proceeds from the evening are being donated to Katharine House Hospice.

Donation to an urgent call to Rugeley Foodbank
We answered an urgent call out to supply Rugeley Foodbank with staple foodstuffs.

Cheque Presentation to M.A.S.E (Monthly Alzheimer’s Support Evenings)
Rugeley & District Lions Club presented a £1000 cheque to Daphne from M.A.S.E at the Lea Hall Club during the “Elvis meets Buddy” evening. Lions President Debra, along with members Elaine, John, Peter, and Jane, were pictured with Daphne and the cheque.
M.A.S.E stands for Monthly Alzheimer’s Support Evening. Several groups operate in the area; the Rugeley group meets at the Lea Hall restaurant on the third Friday of each month. These gatherings provide an opportunity for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and their partners or carers to attend an evening with live entertainment and a buffet meal.
The charity, led by Daphne, supports local families affected by Alzheimer’s disease. The Rugeley & District Lions Club supports community initiatives and charities such as M.A.S.E.
For more information, visit the M.A.S.E charity website.
