Debra is a retired Police Officer. She has been President of Rugeley and District Lions since 2018.
Debra introduced the Christmas Toy Appeal when she joined the Lions and since then the Appeal has gone from strength to strength.
Debra is also responsible for introducing the re-enactments of historical figures by Lesley Smith and is an active member of the Santa Sleigh team.
Peter is a retired Bank Manager and he joined Rugeley and District Lions in 1997.
Peter was a member of Rugeley Round Table until he had to leave due to age restrictions, he wanted to join a similar club, where he could best serve his local community and then he went to a Lion’s meeting and hasn’t looked back since. Peter is an active member of the Santa Sleigh Team as well as supporting the many projects that our club organizes as well as being our Club Treasurer.
Pauline is a retired Science
Technician.
She found about Lions through a leaflet drop and joined in 2009. Pauline is the Club secretary and she is responsible for distributing and sending correspondence to Head Office. She also assists the Santa Sleigh by driving the welfare car and helping throughout the year with various local events. When asked why she joined the Lions in 2009, Pauline replied that she was looking for the best way to serve her local community.
John is a Chemical Engineer and a retired General Manger. He is a member and treasurer of ROSA , as well as a member of Rugeley Community Garden and the Groundsman at Rugeley Rugby Club. John is an active member of the Santa Sleigh team and supports various Lions events throughout the year. John joined the Lions in 2012 and when asked why he joined, he replied that he wanted to give something back to the Community of Rugeley and surrounding areas.
Jane works as a cook at Ingestre Hall and she joined the Lions in 1999.
During her time as a Lion, she has been President 3 times and has served as the Welfare Chairman and Club Secretary.
When asked why she joined Lions, Jane replied that she loves helping people who are less fortunate then ourselves in our local areas.
Jane is an active member of Rugeley and District Lions and she holds coffee mornings to raise funds for Macmillan.
Elaine joined the Lions in 2022 encouraged by her Husband John, who was already an active member of the Lions. She is an Artist and her role within the Lions is to update the Website and create posters and images for the Rugeley and District Lions facebook page and events. When asked why she joined Lions, she responded that she wanted to give something back to the local community
John is an retired ex serviceman and a Rugeley Councillor. John joined the Lions in 2024. When asked why John joined the Lions he replied that he joined to help to raise funds for local community projects and that he also enjoys the camaraderie of the Lions and the great work that we do in our local area.
