Rugeley and District Lions Out and About 2025

As Lions we think it is important to be seen out and about, helping the community in any way we can.

Charter Fair Day in Rugeley 2025
Our Lions group had a stall and took part in the Parade in fancy dress. Our theme was The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Lions Debra , Elaine , John and Peter were the walking party .
This year the Parade and Stalls were in the Town centre and in spite of the odd shower there was a great atmosphere.
It was fantastic to see lots of friendly faces at our Stall. Lots of children liked being photographed with the Lion and the Witch. We look forward to doing it all again next year.

Lichfield Bower 2025

One of the most popular events for this area is the historic Lichfield Bower Festival dating back to 1142. The event is always held on Spring Bank holiday Monday. It’s a day of much fun for locals and visitors from nearby towns. It has a procession that weaves around the centre of Lichfield and includes the crowning of the Bower Queen outside the Guildhall followed by events and fair rides in Beacon park.
This year Rugeley & District Lions Club President Debra Coburn was joined by fellow lions from Cannock, Barton under Needwood, Lichfield and Stafford to form a walking party in the procession . Lions Ed and Nick proved very popular with the children in the traditional Lions outfits as they walked the route. Next year we are hoping to take part in the procession with our own float.
It was a great atmosphere and we had a great reception as we walked along the crowded streets seeing a lot of happy faces along the way . To conclude we had a great time and hope to do it all again next year .
