Rugeley & District Lions Club had their first St.George’s Celebration Concert with a winning partnership at St .Augustine’s Church. Town Crier Adrian Basford opened the Event with a excellent proclamation. We were then entertained by singers Becca Gee and Paul Robert’s . Sing a long numbers including Sweet Caroline, Hey Jude, Shotgun and We’ll Meet again meant a great atmosphere.  At the end we enjoyed the Proms section of Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia , Jerusalem ending and the National Anthem . Think we lifted the roof of at this stage . Rugeley & District Lions Club members President Debra ,Elaine , Peter, John , Parksie , Jane and Pauline can take a rest now . Big thanks to Lion John in dressing as St .George for the night . He proved very popular with the audience .The comment of No one celebrates St .George’s Day was proved wrong last night in Rugeley .
