Rugeley & District Lions Club welcomed history to life with a fantastic evening of An Audience with King Henry VIII, held in the beautiful medieval setting of St Mary’s Church, Colton.
Portrayed by Jack Abbott and written by John White, King Henry VIII delivered an outstanding performance, captivating the audience and transporting everyone back to the Tudor era. Adding to the royal atmosphere, our Lionesses dressed as Henry’s six wives, joined by friends Karen and Gill, along with Reverend Lynne, who all embraced the occasion and helped create a wonderful Tudor theme.
Guests were also treated to delicious individual buffet boxes supplied by local caterer HelloFlour. The buffet proved a popular addition, allowing everyone to enjoy their food during the evening’s entertainment.
A huge thank you goes to Jack Abbott for his brilliant portrayal of the King, John White for writing the performance, HelloFlour for providing the delicious food, and everyone who helped organise and support the event.
Lions on duty were Club President Debra Coburn, Elaine Morgan, Peter Fielding, Mandy Shaw, Jane Stevenson, John Morgan and John Parkes.
It was a memorable evening filled with history, entertainment, good food and friendship. Another wonderful example of Rugeley & District Lions Club bringing people together and creating enjoyable experiences for our local community!
