Rugeley & District Lions Club Donates £1,000 to Support Local Community Organisations

Rugeley & District Lions Club is proud to continue its support for local organisations by presenting two donations of £500 each to groups making a real difference within our community.

The first donation was made to The Changing Room Counselling Service, a free counselling service based at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Etching Hill, and at Rugeley Community Church. Since 2018, the charity has provided confidential support to people experiencing a wide range of personal challenges, helping to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals across the local area. Having supported the charity previously, the Lions are delighted to see its invaluable work continuing to benefit so many people.

A second £500 donation was presented to GB Open Karate Club, with the funding helping to purchase much-needed equipment for its members. The club, which meets regularly at Lea Hall Social Club, provides children and young people with the opportunity to develop confidence, discipline, fitness and self-esteem through martial arts.

The presentations took place during a recent club meeting, where Club President Debra Coburn, District Governor John Fitchett and fellow Lions members welcomed representatives from both organisations.

Supporting local charities, community groups and youth organisations is at the heart of everything Rugeley & District Lions Club does. By investing in organisations that improve lives and strengthen our community, the club continues its mission of serving those in need and making a positive difference throughout the Rugeley area.
